how to: DIY your Denim Jacket

June 19, 2016

It's not a secret. I love denim jackets. I literally own four. I thought it'd be time to jazz things up so here's a step for step instruction on how to DIY your denim jacket.

Step 1
buy iron on patches you like

I ordered mine online at etsy.com and amazon.com.

Step 2
position your patches on denim jacket and decide where you'd like them

Step 3
iron the patches onto the denim jacket

1. spray water on the back of the patch
2. place the patch on the jacket
3. set iron temperature to cotton
4. cover the patch with a piece of damp cloth
5. iron for 20 - 30 seconds
6. turn the jacket inside out and iron until dry

Step 4 (optional)
sew around patches to make sure they stay put

This post was inspired by Estée Lalonde «click here». I hope you've enjoyed this DIY and please tag me (@rbcmrm) on your instagram pictures in case you recreate this, so I can see!

I love the iron on patches too, and the little charms you can get. Embroidery like this is so on trend right now. You did a great job.
