FROM ORLANDO TO KEY WEST

July 12, 2012

Hello again!
I am finally at my grandmother's house and have internet! I took a lot of pictures during the about two weeks. Sorry for not blogging.
The first day was a long day. My parents, my little sister and I flew from Hamburg over Paris to Orlando. The second flight was about 9 hours which was a pain! -.- But we went directly to Disney World Resort where we meet up with my uncle, his wife and my cousins. I was very lucky and didn't have any jetlag.
The next day we went to the Magic Kingdom. We went back to our hotel in the middle of the day, which was on Disney's property and jumped into the pool. But after dinner we went back did a few more rides and watched the fireworks. The weather was so amazing, but I'm not used to the air conditioning - everything was so freakin cold!

Our second day at Disney we spent in Hollywood Studios. My favourite ride was the roller coster rock 'n' roller coaster. Whoo, rode it twice, loved it! Those two days at Disney were so exhausting.
The day after that we rented a car and drove down to our hotel in Clearwater. It's directly across from the beach! On our way down we stopped at an outlet mall, where I bought a pair of black Chucks and three tops from Forever 21. We didn't get to the hotel until the evening but we still went to the beach for about 2 hours. This is the first time I've been to the Gulf of Mexico.
We stayed at Clearwater for four nights all together. The days basically were all the same. Beach - pool - beach - pool and so on. We went out for dinner or ordered pizza. I even ate an alligator tail! One night we went down to Pier 60. The warm summer breeze at night was very pleasent. We saw fire jugglers, fireworks in the distance and a few booths selling different things.
The next day we drove to Fort Myers, where our hotel was. We stopped of at Target where I bought a necklace and other little things. Then we went to the beach on Sanibel for an hour. It was so beautiful! The water was warm and we even found live sanddollers!
On our way to the airboat ride in the Everglades we drove through several different National Parks. After the great airboat ride I was allowed to hold a baby alligator, his tummy was sooo soft! Since it was the 4th of July we went to watch the fireworks. (I'll show you pictures of the fireworks soon.) I got 13 mosquito bites that evening -.-
We got up early the next day, because we went snorcheling near Key Largo in the atlantic ocean. The water was very clear so we saw a lot of fish an corals. Then we drove the over seas highway down to Key West where we had dinner at Sloppy Joe's.
The next day we went to Vero Beach. Our hotel was directly on the beach, which is famous for the turtle nests. We saw a lot of them, but no turtles...
After that we went to visit our friends in Rockledge and then finally flew to Michigan to stay with my grandmother, who lives only 10 minutes away from my uncle, where I will be living the next year. My family will fly back to Germany in the next 4 weeks.
